While attending Ridley College Secondary School, Chris became a starter in his first year playing on the junior varsity soccer team. That year, Ridley won a provincial title with Chris as an integral power forward.
His second year on the junior varsity team, Chris was named team captain and received Most Valuable Player honours while being the league’s highest goal scorer. In his rookie season at the varsity level, Chris landed a starting position. Recognising a possible weakness in the defence, Chris volunteered to move from power forward to defense; the switch proved successful.
Chris led the team in his rookie year to the league championship. With only two losses all season they continued their drive to win the Early Bird Tournament, Provincial Championship and became CAIS National silver medalists. The next year, an even stronger Chris was an integral part in bringing the Ridley team to National and Provincial Championships, while becoming the most winning soccer team in school history - a spectacular 18-1 season.
During his final year at Ridley, Chris played as team captain. He led a mostly rookie team to a nearly undefeated season and an appearance in the National finals once again. Over a three year period Ridley soccer set an unprecedented record of 50-W, 7-L and 5-T. Loved by fellow players and coaches, Chris was and is always a leader on and off the field. He was known to represent true grit and passion. Besides achieving so much success in soccer, Chris participated on the varsity golf team with numerous victories, as well as the varsity hockey team. Ridley paved the way to a sports scholarship at Niagara University where Chris graduated with a B.A. in Business Sport Management.
