Description
Jack (John) Hall was a Niagara Falls athlete who excelled in every sport in which he participated. He was the kind of all-round athlete that could play any position in his chosen sports. Jack's teammates always knew they could count on him to perform at a high level. Jack competed for all the right reasons; for love of the game and unwavering commitment to his team. He consistently demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship in both winning and losing.
As a high school student at Notre Dame College School in Welland, Jack played sports at every opportunity. Coaches of senior teams noticed his exceptional talent as a young player and often called him up from junior to play on their teams. Jack named "Athlete of the Year" in 1975 in recognition of his many outstanding performances on the basketball court, soccer field, and volleyball court.
Jack went on to attend St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title two times with the soccer team and twice with the basketball team, also being honoured twice with the "Athlete of the Year" Award. He was recognized as one of the best athletes in the history of the school and in 2011, Jack was induced into the St. Thomas University Sports Wall of Fame.
Jack was an excellent example of a true team player and remarkable athlete. His athletic achievements have earned him a well-deserved place on the Niagara Falls Sports Wall of Fame.
