In addition to competing, Bert immersed himself in learning and teaching judoka. He taught judoka to children on Saturdays and attended weekly classes to instruct and help wherever he was needed. Bert's students fared well at competition and he enjoyed seeing them succeed.
Bert has many great memories, one of which includes earning a spot on the five man judo team that won the Canadian Championships in 1961. He enjoyed his time competing and coaching. Bert is proud to have been a part of his students' lives and instrumental in the growth of judo in the City of Niagara Falls. - Subject
