Description
Charlie Wray spent many years of his life on waters encompassing the Niagara Region, as an avid angler. He began fishing alongside his father at a very young age, experimenting with various equipment, knots, baits, and lures; developing the incredible "fish sense" that made him an expert fisherman.
Charlie's passion and knowledge of the sport led him to collecting an impressive list of awards throughout his career.
During his twenties, Charlie had many winning entries in the Molson's Big Fish Contest (1986, 1987, 1988, & 1989), and the In-Fisherman Catch and Release Championship (1985-87, 1989). Most notably, he won the Ontario Angler of the Year Award (1986).
Charlie owns and hosts his own television show "Fishful Thinking", allowing him to share his love of the sport of fishing with other fishing enthusiasts. Many episodes of his show are shot in the Niagara Region, taking him back to his fishing roots.
Charlie Wray's exceptional life in the sport fishing world, and the many tributes that he has received, makes him a worthy member of the Niagara Falls Sports Wall of Fame.
