The Niagara Falls Minor Midget “A” Canucks Hockey Team is the first team in Niagara Falls Minor Hockey Association’s history to capture an Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) title in the single “A” category. The road to success for this team was not easy as they overcame adversity throughout the entire season, with many key players enduring injury and illness. Under the guidance of head Coach Rob DeGiuli and his talented staff, this group of players were able to win the OMHA Championship after a gruelling eleven months of training, and bonding as a team. These hockey warriors were moulded into a cohesive unit that epitomized team work and leadership. The Canucks are a true inspiration to all future minor hockey teams and players, especially in Niagara. The accomplishment of capturing the Provincial Championship is one that few teams have the opportunity to celebrate. This group of highly talented, motivated, and dedicated 15 year old young men are a true testament of resiliency and character. Sports Wall of Fame status is a cherished conclusion for this exceptional team.
