Charmaine Reid is a decorated badminton player. She has competed at every level and has claimed the title of top women’s singles and doubles player in Canada. On the international side, her world ranking peaked at 21 in women’s singles and 13 in women’s doubles. Charmaine has competed in 57 countries and earned medals in over 100 International Tournaments.
Charmaine’s career highlights include competing in the 2004 Olympic Games in both the Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles. She competed in the Pan Am Games on three separate occasions, winning two silver medals in 1999 in Canada, a gold medal in 2003 in Dominican Republic, and two silvers medals in 2007 in Brazil. Charmaine attained a top 8 finish in the World Masters Super Series Finals in both 2008 and 2009. She is a Five-time Canadian National Champion. She competed for Canada in the World Championship ten times. In 2011, Charmaine won a silver medal in Women’s Singles and the gold medal in Women's Doubles World Senior Championships in the 35+ categories. Charmaine has competed and succeeded at all levels of competition and still plays the game she loves. The City of Niagara Falls is very proud to be able to honour Charmaine Reid, as she is a worthy addition to the Niagara Falls Sports Wall of Fame.
