Description
William Neale represented the local Stamford Skating Club during his amateur career from 1957 when he won the Western Ontario Sectional junior dance title until 1964 when he represented the Stamford Skating Club and Niagara Falls as a member of the Canadian Olympic Team. In the time between, Bill won many singles, pairs and dance titles, including the 1962 Canadian Junior Men's Championships. Bill turned professional in 1965 when he competed in the World Invitational Championships, placing 2nd. Bill skated as a principal perfomer in the Ice Capades and Holiday on Ice in Europe. Bill returned from the Ice Shows in 1969 to become senior coach of the Stamford Skating Club. Bill is one of the 12 Master Clinic Conductors for the Canadian Figure Skating Association. It has been through Bill's love and dedication to the sport, that he has helped so many Niagara Falls skaters through the CFSA test structure during the last 20 years.
