John Brock, Lieut. Ferdinand Brock, William, Savery and Irving; at age 15 yrs purchased commission as Ensign in 8th Regiment; 1791 Capt. In 49th Regiment; by purchase became Major; age 28 yrs became Lieut.-Col.; 1802 came to Canada; Knight commander of the most honourable order of the Bath; Provisional Lt.-Governor and Major-General commanding the forces of Upper Canada;
