William Gilkison; brother to 5 brothers including Jasper T. and Archie; uncle of Augusta Isabella Grant Gilkison; 1815 left Canada with family to return to Glasgow; 1834 returned to Niagara to work for Niagara Dock Company; 1840 went to Glasgow for visit, took ill and died after lengthy illness;
