Porter with illustrations by Charles D Arnold published 1901 ; The Hermit's Cascade is located between Goat Island and First Sister Island. It is named for Francis Abbott a young man who for two years lived a solitary life at Niagara Falls. He was drowned while bathing in the Cascade near the foot of the Park Railway in 1831 ;
