Photographs were taken by Fred Helie, a worker on the project sometime between 1950 - 1958

en-CA This picture was taken at the junction of the crosscut and tunnel and shows the start of the tunnel. The ramp starts at the crosscut elevation leading to the top half of the tunnel that was excavated first. Notice drilling jumbo in position. Also used to install steel ribs at start of operations
