The American Falls are, properly speaking two distinct Falls, the lesser being known as Luna Falls, which divides Luna island from Goat Island, and behind which is the celebrated Cave of the Winds. The view here given is taken from the east side of the Falls at the base of the precipice, above which is Prospect Park. The American Falls are 167 feet in height and the width is 1100 feet.
