Title
Sir Adam Beck 2 Power Generating Station - construction of one of the two tunnel intakes on the Upper Niagara River
Description
Heritage Foundation
en-CA Similar to a giant mouth-organ, with the open portals facing into the River, this is a close-up of one of the intake openings associated with the tunnels at the Sir Adam Beck Niagara Generating Station No. 2 development. Located about ten feet below the River surface, the portals of the intakes vary in size, being larger on the upstream end, and getting smaller on the downstrem end. This ensures a uniform flow of water in all of the openings. Each tunnel has its own 500 foot gathering tube ;
