Greendale Home and School celebrated its 30th anniversary Tuesday with the presentation of a color VTR unit to the school. past presidents and the school's first principal attended the celebration along with parents and friends who enjoyed a skit recreating the first meeting of the group in 1949. At that time the Home and School presented a radio to the school. In the skit were Doug Brown, first president of the Home and School; Mrs. Pearl Bacon, acting for her husband harold who was second president; Mrs. Alma Badger, third president and Orm Embleton, the school's first principal. Making the presentation was the current president of the Home and School Mrs. Vonda Nixon, left, with A.L. (Bert) Warkentin, principal, receiving the unit. Holding the radio presented 30 years ago is Orm Embleton, with Doug Brown and Mrs. Pearl Bacon looking on. (Review photo by Gord Counsell)".
