Description

en-CA On January 27, 1938 an ice jam, exerting enormous pressure on the abutments of the Falls View Bridge, caused it to collapse onto the ice bridge below. American Falls can be seen in background. The back reads: Ready to go: Photo taken about 3 pm on Tues April 12, 1938 showing last remaining section of the fallen Falls View Bridge on its ice floe just prior to its departure downstream.
