The house was built in 1841 by Monty Crysler. It was demolished in 1928 to make way for the Eaton Block which was demolished around 1973. The Niagara Falls Public Library is the current occupant of the site ;

date of photograph is unknown but a note on the revers indicates it is circa 1950s and taken before the major diversion of water for the Beck and Robert Moses Generating Stations
