- en-CA The entrance to the Whirlpool is at its minimum water flow from November 1 to March 31 each year as a result of water diversion for harnessing electric power. The effect of the underwater reef, holding back the water in the Eddy basin, can be seen in the smooth "two-stage" drop as the water flows into the Whirlpool. This photo taken onboard the Aero car.
