en-CA Obviously, the rapid flow of a body of water such as the Whirlpool has a great capacity for sediment and debris. Here we see an example of the way in which this is utilized. These workers are unloading tons of naturally deposited lake sand from the mouth of the river for use later on in construction, fill, etc.
