en-CA Used in the book Our Romantic Niagara by Albert H. Tiplin. This sketch was done during Wm. H. Hendershot's tenure with the quarry. At this time (1876) the Hendershot Company ran a bustling quarry business, employing over 600 men. In the sketch, various everyday activities at the Quennston Quarry are depicted including the process of hand-chipping stone for shipment. The Great Western Railway line is represented as well ; the library does not have copyright permission to display this image, but it may be viewed in person at the Victoria Avenue Library location ;
