This photograph is of one of four entrances made in the face of the escarpment near St. Davids These entrances were created for the purpose of excavating a layer of Decew dolomite limestone, a natural source of hydraulic cement. The people in the picture are Stamford Collegiate students accompanying A.H. Tiplin on an exploration of the old cement works.
