Title
Ice bridge from the Canadian side - Niagara Falls in Winter
Description
en-CA From a stereograph #647 by by Charles Bierstadt
en-CA Gorge Hotel: Some enterprising person is erecting it on the ice bridge in the Gorge. One lone shanty, or at least the frame of it stands in the centre of the ice bridge. It is being erected, it is said, by a photographer, but the thirsty wil be able to obtain a nip at the house which will receive the appellation of the Gorge Hotel. This morning the spray came down in sheets and it froze in layers on everything it touched. Work on the shanty had to be abandoned for the time being. The ice bridge is firm and it looks as if it has come to stay. "Niagara Falls Gazette January 20, 1899"
