- The upper Niagara is totally ice bound ; an ice breaker (centre) is attempting to break up the ice ;
- en-CA This is one of the last years that such massive ice formed in the river ; at the end of 1964 the ice boom was introduced ; we are making an assumption that this is an ice breaker, we have been unable to verify the colour of these boats in the 1960's ;
- en-CA Information received when the image was scanned indicated the location as the Upper Niagara River ; one other person has come forward saying that he believes the location to be the Lower Niagara River below Queenston ;
