Wilfred Hicks was born in 1899 and moved to the village of Chippawa in 1902. He had a life long passion for photography, bands and Chippawa. His collection of slides and a narrative audio tape was donated to the Niagara Falls Public Library in 1983
The Pavilion House or Hotel was erected on the Portage Road at Falls View in 1821. It was the first hotel providing tourist accommodation in Niagara Falls. It was built and owned and operated by William Forsythe. It burned down in February 1839
