Second Clifton Hotel on Fire - firemen on the scene The fire began in the north wing next to the Lafayette Hotel, very early in the morning and spread through the inside of the hotel attic ; this view shows firefighters spraying water on the north wing where it adjoined the centre section. The main entrance to the hotel was through the pillars shown here and access was by way of Falls Avenue opposite the Foxhead Hotel ; -

Starting with a Smile- The Labatt's International Fastball Tournament Starts The Labatt's international fastball tournament got off to a rousing start on the Wednesday night. Twelve teams from Canada and the U.S competed July 30-Aug 4 with some of the best known players in Canada being in Niagara Falls for the double knock-out event.
