Photographs were taken by Fred Helie, a worker on the project sometime between 1950 - 1958

en-CA At the beginning of operations it was thought advisable to drill and blast the full face of the tunnel at the same time. The reason for the lower drilling jumbo. This operation proved unwise, and we then proceeded to first remove the top section of the tunnel, then came back all the way and drilled the bottom section from the top of the rock rather than the face
