en-CA born in England; came to New York at age 1 yr.; after parents' deaths at age 11 yrs was taken to Buenos Aires, Argentina; age 11-16 yrs worked as jockey; after accident returned to New York to work for American syndicate looking after race horses and worked in South Africa, India, England and Egypt; after contracted malaria he came to Canada and worked on railroads in Niagara area; worked for C.P.R. in British Columbia; upon return to Ontario he enlisted; flew primitive airplanes during WW I; settled in Niagara Falls; member of Lundy's Lane Methodist Church;
