en-CA 1817 (Wexford/ Ireland) - Aug. 1885; father of offspring; member of Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland; practiced in Manchester/England for short time; 1844 emigrated to Canada; brother-in-law to Dr. Morris (Ft. Erie); 1847 moved to port Robinson; appointed to medical charge of troops stationed along Welland Canal; 1861 organized Welland Canal Field Battery and became Captain; when Fenians under O'Neil invaded frontier he was wounded and left leg needed amputating; Crown granted pension for loss of leg; 1870 command of volunteers at Port Robinson; one son became M.D., practiced in Buffalo for time and settled in St. Catharines; also found on microfilm reel # 2, pg. 118;
