Dec 6, 1855); father of Helen Susanna Adeline, Anna Rebecca, Thomas Fletcher, Esther Elizabeth and Frederick Stephen McKenzie (d. 1905); son of Anna (nee Mains) and Matthew Haney; grandparents emigrated to Ontario from New Jersey because of their love of British Flag; 1850 graduated Buffalo Medical College; afterward attended Toronto Medical University and passed board of examiners in 1851; relocated and practiced in Stonebridge village; local superintendent of public schools for 12 yrs.; 1857 elected member to Humberstone Twp Council; later served as asst. reeve; 1871 occupied warden's chair; later appointed Justice of the Peace;
